Specifications:
Core Plywood Bonding Type:
The core plywood bonding shall be WPB and meet the test requirements of this British Standard and using an adhesive of the type which by systematic tests and by records in service of the product over many years has been proven highly resistant to weather, micro-organisms, cold and boiling water, steam and dry heat. The British Standard applies to plywood made with untreated tropical hardwood veneers having a suitable prescribed level of resistance to fungal attack with a bond of WBP glue quality between the plies. It does not need to be "British made" material.
Face
Plywood Bonding Type: The face veneer shall be bonded to the BS 1088 core plywood with type I exterior glue. Marine Plywood by Homestead does not warranty type I exterior glue bond for exterior applications. However some success has been attained in exterior above water line applications when all sides and edges are sealed with at least 3 coats of "Spar" varnish.
Quality of Core Veneers: BS 1088 British Standard Specification for marine plywood manufactured from selected untreated tropical hardwoods. Fire treating is available and as a separate process after manufacture. Core veneers shall be meranti, gurjan, okoume or subspecies there of also known by the trade names Joubert, HydroCore, HydroTech or PowerPly. Small splits are permitted, and there is no limitation on the number of pin knots or edge joints. Discoloration is permissible, provided it is free from dote. Veneers need not be matched for color. There shall be no end joints. Veneers shall be smoothly cut.
Quality of Face Veneers
: Face veneer shall be plain, rift or quarter sliced. The method of cutting is at the option of the manufacturer unless it is specified by the purchaser at the time of ordering. These shall present a solid surface, free from open defects. They shall be free from knots, other than sound pin knots, of which there shall be no more than 6 in any area 30cm square , and not more than an average of 2 per 30 cm square over the whole area of the board. The veneers shall be reasonably free from irregular grain, due note being taken to the characteristics of the species being used. Isolated pinholes not along the plane of the veneers, and occasional closed splits are permissible. Veneers showing compression failure shall be excluded. Occasional minor discoloration is permissible.
Core Veneer Thickness: Tolerances of the core veneers vary as follows. 4mm +.02/-0.6 6mm,  +.04/-0.65 9mm, +.06/-0.75 12mm +.09/-0.82 15mm +.1/-0.9 18mm +.12/-0.98 22mm From the above we can assume that 6mm material will arrive at thickness between 6.04 mm and 5.35mm
Face
Veneer Thickness:  Standard face veneer thickness shall be at least .6mm measured before sanding. Premium face veneer thickness shall be at least 1.4 mm measured before sanding. A face veneer may also be applied to the back of the core plywood to balance the sheet but is not mandatory.

Delivery Acceptance Agreement

Homestead Hardwoods aka Marine Plywood by Homestead or Homestead Doors is not responsible for damaged or missing goods due to carrier or off  loading negligence.
The carrier who delivers merchandise to your door is responsible for loss and damages.
Acceptance of this shipment by you (payer) or your representative is acknowledgment to the transportation company that the articles delivered by them were complete and in good condition.

Since we can’t be there to unload, the burden of proof is on you (payer) to prove that goods became damaged or missing while in transit or at time of loading and not on your jobsite or at time of unloading. Any damaged or missing goods must be noted on the delivery ticket before delivery driver leaves your premises or you will have no chance of collecting damages from the carrier!

Unless we have notified you of backorders assume all merchandise has been shipped.
You must supply manpower to unload the merchandise from truck. You must file all damage claims directly with the carrier. Any replacement goods and freight costs must be paid in full before re-shipping unless it is determined that Homestead Hardwoods was at fault.

                                                             Suggestions:
Visible Damage:

  1. Have the delivery person note on the freight bill the nature and extent of the damage. You must have a damage or shortage notation on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery to support a claim with the carrier.
  2. Notify the transportation company office and have them send a representative out immediately for inspection.
  3. Do not destroy the box or packaging material, this may need to be inspected.

Concealed Damage:

If the damage or shortage is not noticed until after the deliveryman has left then
you will not be able to collect damages from the freight company because
there is no way to prove that the damage was the fault of the carrier.

I have read the above delivery acceptance instructions and agree to the terms. If I am not personally going to be there to unload the merchandise I will instruct my representative of these instructions.

Digital photos of each shipment are taken so that we can count each sheet and determine thickness from the photo. If you have a shortage or discrepancy we can quickly let you know if it was our mistake or if goods became missing while in transit. If your delivery does not look like one of the below photos, then the carrier decided to disassemble the crate without our permission.
